A system
performance specification is detailed document describing all aspects of the
physical security system required to meet the system design criteria. It includes a complete narrative of the
business opportunity for the awarded vendor, terms and conditions of
delivery, contract performance and other administrative requirements for
warranty, payments and other pertinent elements of the contract. The system
specification describes what user features are needed in the required system
in “system performance terms” to convey the mission of the physical security
system. Occasionally, brand and model
references are used but the system specification is a performance document
requiring the vendors to state how their proposal will meet the system
objectives. The goal of the system
specification is to provide enough detail to clearly identify the required
system without artificially limiting the bid responses through a “hardware
specification”. The system
performance specification also provides equipment details for each perimeter
opening including lock types, status switches and other features to meeting
security and life safety code requirements.
Also included are CCTV view locations, floor plans, elevation
drawings, programming tables and other essential criteria to fully describe
the required system. |
